The Autódromo Internacional do Algarve lies in the hills above Portimão in southern Portugal. The circuit opened in 2008 and has since hosted Formula 1, MotoGP and the World Endurance Championship.
Over 4.653 kilometres, 15 corners and elevation changes like no other await you: blind crests, steep drops into the braking zone and corners whose exit you only see once you have already turned in. Add to that a mild climate that makes testing in spring and autumn reliable. Whoever finds a good setup at Portimão has a car that stays stable over bumps and crests as well.

Two dates on the Algarve, organised by us.
4PROS is our test format for race teams, run together with PARAGRAPH5. We hire the circuit exclusively, keep the field small and take the organisation off your hands. At Portimão we run twice in 2027: in April for season preparation and in October to work on the following season.
- At least 7 hours of open pitlane
- You run when your programme calls for it. No sessions, no waiting for the next slot.
- A maximum of 24 cars
- Small fields, free laps and plenty of room for long runs, qualifying simulations and driver changes.
- GT and LMP only
- GT2, GT3, GT4, GTE, one-make cups and LMP2 to LMP4. Formula cars run at our formula test days.
- Timing with sector times
- Professional timing is included; a data stream for your engineers can be booked.
- Tyre service and photos
- MTS fits and balances right on site. Professional shots of your test are included.
- One dedicated contact
- A multilingual coordinator on site takes care of everything that has nothing to do with driving.

Getting there
On the Algarve, in the south of Portugal.
The circuit lies a few kilometres north of Portimão. Most teams fly into Faro and send car and equipment by freight forwarder.

All about testing at Portimão
When do the tests at Portimão take place?
Twice in 2027: in April and in October. The exact dates are listed above under the dates.
What makes Portimão special as a test circuit?
The elevation changes. Crests and dips load the suspension and aerodynamics differently than flat circuits do. Whoever gets the setup right here has a car that also works on bumpy circuits.
Which cars are eligible?
Eligible are GT cars of the GT2, GT3, GT4 and GTE classes, one-make cups such as Porsche Cup, Ferrari Challenge and Lamborghini Super Trofeo, as well as LMP2, LMP3 and LMP4 (JS P4). LMH, LMDh, JS 2R, Group C and GT1 on request. Formula cars and other open wheelers are not admitted at 4PROS.
What is included in the test day?
At least seven hours of open pitlane, professional timing with sector times, photos of your test, tyre service by MTS on site and a dedicated coordinator as your contact. A timing data stream and catering for drivers and mechanics can be booked as extras.
Which noise limit applies?
The noise limit is set by the circuit. At most 4PROS tests, cars run up to 105 dB or FIA-compliant. We give you the exact figure for your date with the quote.
