The Circuito de Jerez lies a few kilometres east of Jerez de la Frontera in the province of Cádiz. Opened in 1985, it hosted several Formula 1 races and for many years was a fixed date for Formula 1 winter testing. It remains a MotoGP venue to this day and has carried the name of motorcycle world champion Ángel Nieto since 2018.
Its 4.428 kilometres combine fast corners with heavy braking zones and a flowing rhythm that challenges chassis and tyres alike. Then there is the weather: even in January, southern Spain is usually mild and dry. That makes Jerez the ideal start to the new year for teams.
Track profile
A mild climate, a flowing rhythm and a circuit where Formula 1 once spent its winters.
